Knowing how to provide PROMPTs is only part of the clinical process. The bigger question is: What should you target and why?

Join Jenn Moore (PROMPT Instructor) and Erin Gaul (PROMPT Certified) for a 90-minute, clinical and hands-on PROMPT Study Group focused on translating assessment findings and movement observations into purposeful treatment targets.

Together, we will work through two clinical cases and walk through the clinical reasoning process behind deciding where to start, which movements to prioritize, and how to build an individualized motor-based treatment plan.

During this interactive study group, we will:

• Review two clinical cases through a PROMPT and motor speech lens
• Identify key motor speech strengths and areas of breakdown
• Determine which movements and movement patterns to prioritize
• Select treatment targets based on the child’s individual motor needs
• Develop functional, measurable treatment goals
• Generate lexicon and word ideas that support the targeted movements
• Discuss how targets can be modified and progressed as the child’s motor system changes
• Connect assessment → movement targets → goals → lexicon

This is a highly clinical, hands-on session designed for SLPs who want more practice making treatment plans and applying clinical reasoning to real cases.

Jennifer Moore, EdD CCC-SLP, PC/I, COM

Dr. Jennifer Moore is a speech-language pathologist who co-owns a multidisciplinary private practice in northern NJ. Dr. Moore has previously held positions in academia, home health, public schools, and pediatric hospitals before creating her integrative center. Dr. Moore is a PROMPT Certified Instructor, certified orofacial myologist (COM) and a subject matter expert in motor speech development and disorders. Her research projects pertain to the sub population of children who present with coexisting motor speech dysfunction and autism as well as various topics in pediatric motor speech disorders. Dr. Moore has been both selected and invited to present on various topics related to her expertise at conferences at the state, national and international levels. She currently offers advanced training to SLPs through her online community, Next Level Motor. Her mission is to lessen the research-to-clinic knowledge gap by creating resources using evidence-based practices for clinical application. 

Erin Gaul, MS CCC-SLP

Erin earned her Bachelors in Sociology/Deaf Studies at Rosemont College and her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from Gallaudet University.

Erin is PROMPT© Certified, only one of two clinicians in Pennsylvania to have this distinction!

Erin’s clinical interests lie primarily in passionate treatment for Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) and other Speech Sound Disorders (SSD). Erin has sought extensive, professional, ongoing training for CAS. Erin utilizes Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) in motor speech sessions. PROMPT is also utilized for tactile cueing within the DTTC hierarchy. Erin is also listed in the Apraxia-Kids SLP directory for experienced, expert treatment of CAS: Apraxia-Kids SLP directory.

Erin also specializes in orofacial myofunctional disorders and is a Certified Myofunctional Therapist (CMT®). She was trained through the International Association of Orofacial Myology, The MyoMethod, and additional, vigorous coursework.

She is also proficient in American Sign Language (ASL).

Erin holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.

When not speeching it up, Erin loves snuggling her pitbull, Finn, hanging with her husband, reading thrillers, watching true crime and cooking shows, and indoor and outdoor cycling. She is also a lucky two-time breast cancer survivor.
